Chaukhamba i.e., the four pillars is an all India NGO Registered under the societies registration Act XX1 of 1860. The four pillars of chukhamba are, Education, Empowerment, Health and development. It is a non profit making independent, democratic, non sectarian people’s organization working for the empowerment and overall development of economic and socially marginalized group, Chukhamba also works in areas which affect people at large.      
 
Nishkarsh Academy is an Education Body of CHAUKHAMBA.  Nishkarsh is a centre of excellence for the Civil Services Examination, was set up with the avowed aim of giving a new orientation to the studies and preparation for the Civil Services Examination in Chhattisgarh. In addition CHAUKHAMBA has been also offering educational services to the students preparing for UGC-NET/CSIR, Banking Services, SSC and other state level Examination for the last 05 years.

The principal objective of this venture was to organize classes, integrating lectures on compulsory subjects & popular optional subjects, orientation classes, tests, seminars and interview sessions for the various competitive  Examination. The Academy imparts comprehensive training-cum-guidance program which cover all the stages of civil services exam – Preliminary Exam (the objective type screening test); Main exam (the descriptive type written test) and Interview.

The Academy was established with the aim to provide a complete solution to the students preparing for competitive examination. The focus is on providing holistic education not only covering the prescribed syllabus but also enabling the students to face other challenges of life with an equal ease. The Academy imparts its class-room training programme only at Raipur in Chhattisgarh.

The institute has given birth to a cult of entrepreneurship, trying out new ways of doing things, not only from academic stand point but also taking overall responsibility for the success of the Civil Services Aspirants. Entrepreneurship is not restricted to business alone—here entrepreneurship is desirable and important in making preparation for the Civil Services Examination. Over the years the contours of the trends of the Civil Services Examination have undergone a change. There has been a paradigm shift in the course contents of the General Studies & many optional subjects. Lately there has been a reduction in the number of vacancies. The competition has grown stiffer and now poses greater challenges.

The institute has given a new direction to the teaching methods—it has propounded new formulae of success—And it has been incessantly shouldering new responsibilities in order to support the students.
